BRC questions, answered
The Basic RiderCourse is for beginners — people who have never been on a motorcycle, or who aren't riding right now. Here's everything students ask before day one.
Is this course good for someone who has never been on a motorcycle?
Yes — that is exactly what it's designed for. The course assumes you have never been on a motorcycle in your life. You will not be the only person there learning from zero.
How do I get the eCourse?
It's included in your class. When you register and pay, you'll get an email with directions and your login information.
Do I have to finish the eCourse in one sitting?
No. Come back to it as many times as you like. We also recommend going back over any segment you weren't clear on after you finish.
When do you run classes?
Continuously. We run the largest selection of classes in Houston, all year round, at both ranges.
What if I need to reschedule?
Email us at least 48 hours before your class begins. Less than that and the change can't be made.
Can I take day one of one class and day two of another?
Unfortunately not. You can, however, email us the two days you need and we'll consider posting a class — we usually need two to three weeks' notice to fill it.
What kind of motorcycles do you provide?
The largest variety in the area, so we can match a bike to your height and reach:
- Yamaha V Star
- Honda Grom
- Kawasaki Z Pro
- Honda Rebel 300
- Honda Navi — automatic, no clutch
How do I get my license after class?
Take the completion certificate (MSB-8) we hand you at the end of class to the DMV, take a vision test, and they'll add the "M" to your license. If you're under 18 you'll also have to take a riding test there.
What's the full path to a motorcycle license in Texas?
- Choose your course — BRC for beginners, LW for current riders.
- Open the schedule and choose a range: West Oaks or Dickinson.
- Pick a date that fits and enroll.
- Complete the class, collect your MSB-8 certificate.
- Take it to the DMV, pass the vision test, get your endorsement.
